Our Amsterdam Get-Away

Louie and I decided to go to Amsterdam and stay there overnight before heading to Bremen, Germany. Driving time from Paris to Amsterdam is about 5 hours.

The ever famous Dutch Windmill. I took this inside the car while we were driving.

If I am not mistaken, this is a parking complex. We had to park Louie's car and take the train to the city because parking in Amsterdam is VERY EXPENSIVE!

And here is my Human G.P.S. trying to figure out our route to the City.

Amsterdam is the capital and largest city of The Netherlands. It is also the financial & cultural hub. Don't you know that 7 of the top 500 companies in the World have their headquarters in Amsterdam? The name Amsterdam was derived from Amstellerdam (A dam in the river Amstel).

There are plenty of canals all over Amsterdam. And here is one.

When we got to the City Center, we had to walk and search for our hotel. Here I am pretending that everything is OK when in fact, my limbs are ready to give in. We haven't eaten anything the entire day and it's around 3pm. Strange but why am I not getting thinner? Eye Hayt et (I hate it!).

We stayed at the Eden American Hotel. eyelove!

And this was taken infront of our Hotel.

There was a soccer match between the Dutch and the Swedes, I think. Human traffic was evident. Everyone was on party mode early in the afternoon.

We had lunch at this Chinese Restaurant which I forgot to get the name. He frequents this place everytime he's here. It was delish. From the time the food got to our table, i think it took us less than five minutes to finish everything. Good thing I was able to snap a shot before it's too late!

Now it's time to explore the city! First stop: the red light district. You can see the smile on Louie's face. Hmmm.... He can't hide his excitement. Why so? Along the way, you can see rented building spaces on the ground floor where prostitutes showcase themselves to both tourists and locals alike. Will this ever happen in the PH? Not even in my wildest dreams, I guess. (char!)

Window display of one of the Sex Shops. Take note of the cute and cuddly bears hanging on the wall.

Here's a closer shot of that cute baby bear with a huge schlong.

Condoms in all shapes and sizes. Anyone interested?

How about these yellow-green vibrators?

While waiting for our tram going back to the hotel Louie took this photo. That gorgeous building right behind me is a shopping mall: Magna Plaza!

One of the many theatres in Amsterdam.

these public urinals are called Pisoir (pronounced: piswa). Why can't we have these as well in the PH instead of people urinating on the walls of buildings and houses?

Dinner at this Dimsum Place was a nightmare! The dimsum served were frozen. It was like chewing ice. It was a disaster. Never again.

The following morning we are going to Bremen. And what a lovely day it is! My human G.P.S. posing beside a bicycle. You will constantly encounter bicycles all over the place. It's time move on... goodbye!
