An incredible story

In 1986, Peter Davies was on holiday in Kenya after graduating from Northwestern University . On a hike through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed, so Peter approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee, inspected the elephants foot, and found a large piece of wood deeply embedded in it.
As carefully and as gently as he could, Peter worked the wood out with his knife, After which the elephant gingerly put down its foot. The elephant turned to face the man, and with a rather curious look on its face, stared at him for several tense moments. Peter stood frozen, thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned, and walked away. Peter never forgot that elephant or the events of that day.

Twenty years later, Peter was walking through the Chicago Zoo with his
teenaged son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to near where Peter and his son Cameron were standing. The large bull elephant stared at Peter, lifted its front foot off the ground, then put it down. The elephant did that several times then trumpeted loudly, all the while staring at the man. Remembering the encounter in 1986, Peter could not help wondering if this was the same elephant. Peter summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing, and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. The elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of Peter legs and slammed him against the railing, killing him instantly. Probably wasn't the same fucking elephant.

This is for everyone who sends me those heart-warming bullshit stories.

Daddy's scribbles

Three boys are in the school yard bragging about their fathers.

The first boy says, "My Dad scribbles a few words on a piece of paper, he
calls it a poem, and they give him $50."

The second boy says, "That's nothing. My Dad scribbles a few words on a
piece of paper, he calls it a song, they give him $100."

The third boy says, "I got you both beat. My Dad scribbles a few words on
a piece of paper, he calls it a sermon, and it takes eight people to
collect all the money!"

Nurse Ghost?

Is this for real? Take a look at the window. Believed to be a nurse who committed suicide at one of the hospitals here in Bacolod City in the 70s. Scary! She was found dead at the restroom of one of the nurse's stations. Scary!!!

Important Information

A chat with Dr.Devi Shetty, Narayana Hrudayalaya (Heart Specialist)
Bangalore‏

Qn: What are the thumb rules for a layman to take care of his heart ?
Ans:
1. Diet - Less of carbohydrate, more of protein, less oil
2. Exercise - Half an hour's walk, at least five days a week; avoid lifts
and avoid sitting for a longtime
3. Quit smoking
4. Control weight
5. Control blood pressure and sugar

Qn: Is eating non-veg food (fish) good for the heart?
Ans: No

Qn: It's still a grave shock to hear that some apparently healthy person gets a cardiac arrest. How do we understand it in perspective?
Ans: This is called silent attack; that is why we recommend everyone past
the age of 30 to undergo routine health checkups.

Qn: Are heart diseases hereditary?
Ans: Yes

Qn: What are the ways in which the heart is stressed? What practices do you suggest to de-stress?
Ans: Change your attitude towards life. Do not look for perfection in
everything in life.

Qn: Is walking better than jogging or is more intensive exercise required to keep a healthy heart?
Ans: Walking is better than jogging since jogging leads to early fatigue
and injury to joints .

Qn: Can people with low blood pressure suffer heart diseases?
Ans: Extremely rare

Qn: Does cholesterol accumulates right from an early age (I'm currently only 22) or do you have to worry about it only after you are above 30 years of age?
Ans: Cholesterol accumulates from childhood.

Qn: How do irregular eating habits affect the heart ?
Ans: You tend to eat junk food when the habits are irregular and your
body's enzyme release for digestion gets confused.

Qn: How can I control cholesterol content without using medicines?
Ans: Control diet, walk and eat walnut.

Qn: Can yoga prevent heart ailments?
Ans: Yoga helps.

Qn: Which is the best and worst food for the heart?
Ans: Fruits and vegetables are the best and the worst is oil.

Ans: Routine blood test to ensure sugar, cholesterol is ok. Check BP,
Treadmill test after an echo.

Qn: What are the first aid steps to be taken on a heart attack?
Ans: Help the person into a sleeping position , place an aspirin tablet
under the tongue with a sorbitrate tablet if available, and rush him to a
coronary care unit since the maximum casualty takes place within the first
hour.

Qn: How do you differentiate between pain caused by a heart attack and that caused due to gastric trouble?
Ans: Extremely difficult without ECG.

Qn: What is the main cause of a steep increase in heart problems amongst
youngsters? I see people of about 30-40 yrs of age having heart attacks and
serious heart problems.

Ans: Increased awareness has increased incidents. Also, edentary
lifestyles, smoking, junk food, lack of exercise in a country where people
are genetically three times more vulnerable for heart attacks than
Europeans and Americans.

Qn: Is it possible for a person to have BP outside the normal range of 120/80 and yet be perfectly healthy?
Ans: Yes.

Qn: Marriages within close relatives can lead to heart problems for the child. Is it true?
Ans : Yes, co-sanguinity leads to congenital abnormalities and you may not
have a software engineer as a child

Qn: Man y of us have an irregular daily routine and many a times we have to
stay late nights in office. Does this affect our heart ? What precautions
would you recommend?

Ans : When you are young, nature protects you against all these
irregularities. However, as you grow older, respect the biological clock.

Qn: Will taking anti-hypertensive drugs cause some other complications (short / long term)?
Ans : Yes, most drugs have some side effects. However, modern
anti-hypertensive drugs are extremely safe.

Qn: Will consuming more coffee/tea lead to heart attacks?

are vulnerable for the most expensive disease.

Qn: Does consuming bananas help reduce hypertension?Ans : No.

Qn: Can a person help himself during a heart attack (Because we see a lot
of forwarded emails on this)?

Ans : Yes. Lie down comfortably and put an aspirin tablet of any
description under the tongue and ask someone to take you to the nearest
coronary care unit without any delay and do not wait for the ambulance
since most of the time, the ambulance does not turn up.

Qn: Do, in any way, low white blood cells and low hemoglobin count lead to
heart problems?

Ans : No. But it is ideal to have normal hemoglobin level to increase your
exercise capacity.

Qn: Sometimes, due to the hectic schedule we are not able to exercise. So,
does walking while doing daily chores at home or climbing the stairs in the
house, work as a substitute for exercise?

Ans : Certainly. Avoid sitting continuously for more than half an hour and
even the act of getting out of the chair and going to another chair and
sitting helps a lot.

go for natural ways of controlling blood pressure by walk, diet to reduce
weight and changing attitudes towards lifestyles.

Qn: Does dispirin or similar headache pills increase the risk of heart
attacks?

Ans : No.

Qn: Why is the rate of heart attacks more in men than in women?

5-minute Management Course

Lesson 1:

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings.

The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs.

When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbour.

Before she says a word, Bob says, 'I'll give you $800 to drop that towel.'

After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds,
Bob hands her $800 and leaves.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and
goes back upstairs.

When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, 'Who was that?'

'It was Bob the next door neighbour,' she replies.

'Great,' the husband says, 'did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?'

Moral of the story:

If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a
position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2:

A priest offered a Nun a lift.

She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg.

The priest nearly had an accident.

After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.

The nun said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?'

The priest removed his hand But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again
said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?'

The priest apologized 'Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.'

Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily
And went on her way.

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, 'Go forth and seek, further up,
you will find glory.'

Moral of the story:

If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 3:

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.

They rub it and a Genie comes out.
The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.' 'Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. 'I want to
be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.'
Puff! She's gone.

'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal
masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.'

Puff! He's gone.

'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the manager.
The manager says, 'I want those two back in the office after
Lunch.'

Moral of the story:
Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 4:

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?'
The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.'

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the
rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:
To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson 5:

A turkey was chatting with a bull.

'I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree' sighed the turkey, 'but I haven't got the energy.'
'Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?' replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients.'

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch
of the tree.

The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.

Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story:
Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there..

Lesson 6:

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a
large field.

While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out!

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to
investigate.

Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate
him.

Morals of the story:
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your
friend.

(3) And when you're in deep shit , it's best to keep
your mouth shut!

Banana: All-cure fruit!

Reading THIS, you'll NEVER look at a banana in the same way again!!

Bananas which contain three natural sugars (sucrose, fructose and glucose)
and fiber give an instant, sustained, and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a
strenuous, 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit
with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana
can help us keep fit.It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial
number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily
diet.

Reducing Depression:According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst
people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a
banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that
the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your
mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS:Forget the pills -- eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates
blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia:High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in
the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium
yet low in salt, making it the perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so,
the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to
make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood
pressure and stroke.

[IMAGE]Brain Power:Two-hundred students at a Twickenham (Middlesex, UK)
school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at
breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research
has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making
pupils more alert.

Constipation:High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore
normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to
laxatives.

Hangovers:One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana
milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the
help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk
soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you
suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness:Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep
blood-sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito Bites:Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the
affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it
amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at Work?Studies at the Instituteof Psychologyin Austriafound
pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and
crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most
obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded
that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our
blood-sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every 2 hours to
keep levels steady.

Ulcers:The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders
because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that
can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes
over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature Control:Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit
that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant
mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure
their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):Bananas can help SAD sufferers because
they contain the natural mood enhancer, tryptophan.

Smoking Cessation:Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking.
The B6 and B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found
in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress Relief:Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the
heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water
balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing
our potassium levels. They can be re-balanced with the help of a
high-potassium banana snack.

Stroke Risk:According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine,
eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by
strokes by as much as 40%!

Wart Removal:Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to
kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with
the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or
surgical tape!

Splinter Removal:For those hard-to-remove wood splinters, rather than
poking and prodding with tweezer and needle, take a small piece of banana
skin, large enough to cover the splinter wholly, yellow side out, and
carefully tape it over the splinter with a band-aid or tape. Overnight the
banana and its enzymes will work the splinter out, dissolving it and
sealing the wound. So in the morning, when you remove the band-aid, the pad
will be yucky brown mush and no more splinter!

CONCLUSION:So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you
compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the
carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and
iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in
potassium and is one of the best value foods around!

So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say: "A
banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

The funniest Divorce Letter Ever!

Dear Wife:

I'm writing you this letter to tell you that I'm leaving you forever. I've
been a good man to you for seven years and I have nothing to show for it.
These last two weeks have been hell. Your boss called to tell me that you
quit your job today and that was the last straw.

Last week, you came home and didn't even notice that I had a new haircut,
had cooked your favorite meal and even wore a brand new pair of silk
boxers. You ate in two minutes, and went straight to sleep after watching
all of your soaps. You don't tell me you love me anymore: you don't want
sex or anything that connects us as husband and wife. Either you're
cheating on me or you don't love me anymore; whatever the case, I'm gone.

Your EX-Husband

P.S. Don't try to find me. Your SISTER and I are moving away to West
Virginia together! Have a great life!
_______________________________________________________________

Dear Ex-Husband -

Nothing has made my day more than receiving your letter. It's true that you
and I have been married for seven years, although a good man is a far cry
from what you've been. I watch my soaps so much because they drown out your
constant whining and griping. Too bad that doesn't work.

I DID notice when you got a hair cut last week, but the first thing that
came to mind was 'You look just like a girl!' Since my mother raised me not
to say anything if you can't say something nice, I didn't comment.

And when you cooked my favorite meal, you must have gotten me confused with
MY SISTER, because I stopped eating pork seven years ago.

About those new silk boxers: I turned away from you because the
$49.99 price tag was still on them, and I prayed that it was a coincidence
that my sister had just borrowed fifty dollars from me that morning.

After all of this, I still loved you and felt that we could work it out.
So when I hit the lotto for ten million dollars, I quit my job and bought
us two tickets to Jamaica . But when I got home you were gone. Everything
happens for a reason, I guess.
I hope you have the fulfilling life you always wanted.

My lawyer said that the letter you wrote ensures you won't get a dime from
me. So take care.

Signed,
Your Ex-Wife, Rich As Hell and Free!
P.S. I don't know if I ever told you this, but my sister Carla was born
Carl. I hope that's not a problem.

Pareto Principle

"Interesting quote from the movie "Why did I get married?"
In most cases, especially in relationships, you will only get 80% of what
you NEED and you will hardly get the other 20% that you WANT in your
relationship.. There is always another person (man or women) that you will
meet and that will offer you the other 20% which is lacking in your
relationship that you WANT And believe me, 20% looks really good when you
are not getting it at all in your current relationship.
But the problem is that you will always be tempted to leave that good 80%
that you know you have, thinking that you will get something better with
the other 20% that you WANT
But as reality has proven, in most cases, you will always end up with
having the 20% that you WANT and loosing the 80% that you really NEED and
that you already had.
Be careful in deciding between what you WANT and NEED in your life.

Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have. "Wow, this
girl in my office is a real looker. But it's not her Wynona Rider features
that got me. I'm crazy about her because she's also understanding,
intelligent, tender - so many things that my spouse is not"

Somewhere along the way, you'll find a woman or a man who will be more
charming or sensitive. More alluring. More thoughtful. Richer. Have greater
sex appeal. And you will find a woman or man who will need you and pursue
you and go loco over you more than your spouse ever did.

Because no wife or husband is perfect. Because a spouse will only have 80%
of what you're looking for. So adultery takes place when a husband or wife
looks for the missing 20%. Let's say your wife is melancholic by nature.

You may find yourself drawn to the pretty clerk who has a cherry laugh no
matter what she says: "I broke my arm yesterday, Hahahaha . . .."

Or because your wife is a homebody in slippers and pajamas, smelling of
garlic and fish oil, you may fall for a fresh-smelling young sales
representative that visits your office in a sharp black blazer, high heels,
and a red pencil-cut skirt Or because your husband is the quiet
type, your heart may skip a beat when you meet an old college flame who has
the makings of a talk show host.

But wait! That's only 20% of what you don't have.

Don't throw away the 80% that you already have!

That's not all. Add to your spouse's 80% the 100% that represents all the
years that you have been with each other. The storms you have weathered
together. The unforgettable moments of sadness and joy as a couple. The
many adjustments you have made to love the other. The wealth of memories
that you've accumulated as lovers.

Adultery happens when you start looking for what you don't have.

But faithfulness happens when you start thanking God for what you already
have.
But I'm not just talking about marriage.

I'm talking about life!

About your jobs.
About your friends.
About your children.
About your lifestyles.

Are you like the economy airline passenger that perennially peeks through
the door of the first class cabin, obsessed with what he's missing? "They
have got more leg room! Oh my, their food is served in porcelain! Wow,
their seats recline at an 80% angle and they've got personal videos!"

I guarantee you'll be miserable for the entire trip! Don't live your life
like that. Forget about what the world says is first class.. Do you know
that there are many first class passengers who are miserable in first class
-- because they are not riding in a private Lear Jet?

The main message???

If you start appreciating what you have right now, wherever you are, you
are first class!"

When I born, I black
When I grow up, I black
When I go in Sun, I black
When I scared, I black
When I sick, I black
And when I die, I still black

And you white fellow
When you born, you pink
When you grow up, you white
When you go in sun, you red
When you cold, you blue
When you scared, you yellow
When you sick, you green
And when you die, you gray

And you calling me colored ?

Vicks Vaporub - try its magic

Got this via email as well. Hope this helps.... to those who are having colds, this is it! :)
VICKS VAPORUB - INTERESTING!!!

"During a lecture on Essential Oils, they told us how the foot soles can
absorb oils. Their example: Put garlic on your feet and within 20 minutes
you can 'taste' it.

Some of us have used Vicks Vapo rub for years for everything from chapped
lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But I've never heard of
this. And don't laugh, it works 100% of the time, although the scientists
who discovered it aren't sure why. To stop night time coughing in a child
(or adult as we found out pe rsonally), put Vicks Vapo rub generously on
the bottom of the feet at bedtime, then cover with socks. Even persistent,
heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for
many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is more effective in
children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it
is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly.

Just happened to tune in A.M. Radio and picked up this guy talking about
why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good, due to the
chemical makeup of these strong drugs so, I listened. It was a surprise,
finding it to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at
bedtime, in addition to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children
who then went on to sleep soundly.

My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and
persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%! She said that it felt
like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing stopped in a few minutes
and believe me, this was a deep, (incredibly annoying!) every few seconds
uncontrollable cough, and she slept cough-free for hours every night that
she used it.

If you have grandchildren, pass this on. If you end up sick, try it
yourself and you will be absolutely amazed at how it works."

DON'T SHUN THIS ONE.. TRY IT THE NEXT TIME YOU GET A BAD COLD

CLEAN YOUR KIDNEYS FOR LESS THAN $1.00

Got this via email and I'm sharing this with you...

Years pass by and our kidneys are filtering the blood by removing salt,
poison and any unwanted entering our body. With time, the salt accumulates
and this needs to undergo cleaning treatments and how are we going to
overcome this?
It is very easy, first take a bunch of parsley and wash it clean
Then cut it in small pieces and put it in a pot and pour clean water and
boil it for ten minutes and let it cool down and then filter it and pour in
a clean bottle and keep it inside refrigerator to cool.
Drink one glass daily and you will notice all salt and other accumulated
poison coming out of your kidney by urination also you will be able to
notice the difference which you never felt before.
Parsley is known as best cleaning treatment for kidneys and it is natural!

Please forward to all your friends!

Juice of 1/4 lemon
salt & pepper
basil leaves
cheese

1. Cut chicken skin into strips or cube (depends on your liking). Marinate with salt, pepper, lemon juice & chili sauce.

In a non-stick pan, saute garlic in canola oil. Once golden brown, incorporate chicken breast. Fry until cooked.

Acrophobia

I have fear of heights.

While in New Mexico, my aunt wanted me to experience the world's longest passenger aerial tramway. So, we headed off to Sandia Peak which is adjacent to Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The aerial view of Albuquerque from the entrance of the Tramway

I think each ticket costs $17.50. Here's a tram descending the Sandia Mountains. I wasn't sure if I want to take a ride on this flimsy looking tram (I know it isn't. It's just me and my nega-mentality working). Well, to save myself from embarrassment, I obliged. My armpits were sweating and so are the soles of my feet. But I survived it! The only way to overcome your fear is to face your fear! Ha! Sorry to disappoint you but it is still my fear. LOL... Haven't overcome it yet.... it will take time!

There are a lot of recreational activity that can be done at the top. You can go biking, nature hiking or back packing. Restaurants are available but I think they open up to a certain time only.

On top of Sandia Peak. It was super cold and I did not bother to bring a jacket. Most of the time I was at the reception area looking at framed insects, etc... It was too cold to stay outside for a long period of time. Can't stand it.

Hiking Trail. If you love nature, this is perfect for you! Highly recommended. :)

Liposuction

Accompanied my aunt yesterday morning at The Riverside Medical Center for a Liposuction-touch up. It's a very quick procedure which lasted less than 30 minutes. She was an out-patient.

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery operation that remove fats from different areas in the body. Last year my aunt underwent abdominal liposuction already. Today is just a touch-up. She is based in the United States.

Before entering the hospital you must surrender an ID to be given access cards depending on the floor you will be going to. In our case, the second floor - where the operating room is stationed.

First step was admitting section. Their staff are friendly and accommodating.

Then, I went to the cashier to make a deposit.

And we were off to the Operating Room on the second floor. This is their waiting area. The sofa survived 10 typhoons that's why it is sporting "that" tattered look! Hahahaha!

After the operation, my aunt was up and about. No signs of dizziness. LOL! We need to wait for at least an hour before we can get her clearance and pay any excess beyond the deposit amount. We killed time at Bob's Restaurant, right across the hospital. I can already feel the flu slowly catching up on me. Bad.

Driftwood Spa

I am down with flu and was contemplating whether to have a massage. I was apprehensive at the beginning because it might cause a relapse. I wasted no time. Called the owner of Driftwood Spa (Rene) and inquired. He enthusiastically said that it is totally fine and as a matter of fact, it will relieve my difficulty in breathing. He offered the body massage and herbal heat combination. So, without hesitation, I made reservations at 3:30pm.

Driftwood Spa is on the second floor of RACL Building along Rosario Street, Bacolod City, Philippines.

The entrance to the Spa is on the right side of the building. There's a staircase leading you to the second floor. You wont miss it because you will be greeted by these bamboo backdrop and an intricately designed water fountain stationed at the corner. From where I was standing I can see the front desk of the Spa.

This is the front desk of the Spa. Right infront are tables and chair which I forgot to snap a photo of. If you wish to stay outside and smoke while waiting for you your session, you can!

There is a waiting area inside the Spa as well. If you don't want open air and wish to relax inside with airconditioning, this is the perfect spot. Right infront of this bamboo inspired waiting area are lockers for your personal belongings. However, there are lockers as well on each and every cubicle.

The spa has two make-shift lazyboy chairs for foot massages. The lighting inside the spa is dim. You can easily dose off seating on these chairs, I tell you. Apart from this, (If I am not mistaken and I hope I counted it correctly) the spa has a total of 12 cubicles for body massages.

Before the start of your massage, you're feet are soaked in warm water with soap. Submerged right below is a manual foot massager. Your masseur then scrubs each foot and towel-dry them. I think this is one of the things that separates this Spa from the rest. I Heart this portion. I apologize for the bad lighting, my iPhone does not have a flash (which I assume everybody knows by now, thank you very much!).

The body massage was perfect. After which, the herbal heat treatment followed. A combination of herbs (lemon grass, lagundi, etc.) are either soaked or boiled in water then wrapped with a loin cloth. Then, the loin cloth is pressed on your back to relieve muscle tension and clear your air-passage. Surprisingly, it made wonders on me! I felt totally rejuvinated. I don't know if it was psychological. Ha! The only let down at the spa is if your cubicle is near the main road because you can sometimes hear jeepneys honking and motorcycles passing by. However, the loud yet relaxing acustic piped-in music solved the problem. Oh and one more thing, I think the masseur who handle me forgot to wipe my body with excess oil using a hot towel after our session. According to the owner, you must request for it. *wink* All in all, it was a worthwhile experience. Looking forward to my future sessions at Driftwood Spa!

The very attentive and proud owner, Rene (aka: RJ). Modesty aside, he passed the D.O.H. (Department of Health) Massage Therapy Licensure Examination last December 2 and 5, 2009. You are in goods hand at Driftwood Spa. :)

Their friendly but shy staff: First Row: PJ, Elma, Lani. Second Row: Mark, Rey

On regular days, their full body massage cost Php250.00. You may also request for home service for Php500.00. And if you're on a rush, they have a 30-minute massage for only Php100.00!

Currently, they have tons of promotional offers for the valentines season. Body Massage + Herbal heat for Php270.00 only. Body Massage + Thai Mask for Php270.only. Body scrub + Hot Oil for Php350.00 only. The list can go on and on and on... I suggest you give them a call now! They are open daily from 1pm to 11pm.
